It is our privilege to serve the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign community of approximately 53,000 people including: undergraduate students, graduate and professional students, faculty members, academic professionals and staff members, as well as our visitors. The University was founded in 1867, and has a long history of distinction, pride and academic excellence. Therefore, as the unit charged with ensuring safety, we take our responsibility seriously.
The information contained on our Web site is part of our continued efforts to provide the campus community with current safety information, programs, and services. As you review each page you will learn about our police services, emergency preparedness, and risk management. Each of these departments works collaboratively not only with each other, but also the broader university community as well as the communities of Urbana and Champaign.
